Nope. We don't have a mask mandate where I live, and other than a couple of weeks near the beginning of this alternate reality, we never did. Next county over had, maybe still has, mandates. Some stores, such as Walmart (when certain employees are on duty) require masks in their facilities, so of course I comply (I also wear shoes and a shirt, I want service, darn it!) but if I don't have to, I don't. I'm very tempted to get a mask that has someone else's lower nose and mouth on it. I asked the second-born if she'd swap lower halves with me and she said that was too creepy. My dream mask, though, is a real Plague Mask a la these: www.amazon.com/plague-mask/s?k=plague+mask The big drawback is that it looks like peripheral vision is out the window on those. Somewhat related: got my first dose. I decided I wanted the Pfizer vaccine because the people I know who got it didn't have any problems while the people I know who had the Moderna had some side effects. I'm the last adult in the more-or-less immediate family who's been vaccinated and I scheduled for a weekend so the husband would be home just in case. Two more weeks and a couple of days and I'll be fully vaccinated. Huzzah.

Glad you got jabbed. We still haven't been able to find out where to get one around here. And if we'd need an appointment or not. The only real good news is that now everyone in the family is age wise eligible. I think even the (step)grandspawnette is old enough for one.

Depends on the state. A lot of states allow 13-year-olds to take the jab. Around here, yes, you do need an appointment. If you can't find anyplace in the link I gave, call your local pharmacy and ask. Oh. I didn't give a site. Here: www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/reporting/vaccinefinder/about.htmlBTW, computer gave up the ghost. Even the husband's magic touch didn't help. Had to order a new one, got it Friday, still working on setting it up but at least I can now get on the internet on something other than the phone.

So sorry to hear your puter went bits up on you. Glad you were able to get a new one fairly quickly. We had to replace Teletraan 5.X -- forgot now how many upgrades we'd done on her (I think it was 5.X) because her hard drive had been eaten away by viruses and malware back in about 2006 or so. Teletraan 6 got two or three upgrades and then I made the mistake of absolutely drooling (I swear, I thought I was being discreet! lol ) over one and I left him in the electronics section of WallyWorld to answer an abrupt call of nature. When I got back, there was a tower, monitor, keyboard, canned air, box of screen wipes and an external hard drive in the buggy under the pile of Lee jeans he'd gotten me. And that's how Teletraan 7 joined the family. Youngest spawn got Teletraan 6 and we used the external hard drive to git the files off her that I wanted to keep and have access to.

The old computer was only 3.5 years old. It froze. I hard-stopped. Couldn't start it up again. Husband said it was either the CPU or the Motherboard. Cost? About as much as a new computer if I don't go in for all that high-def gaming (I don't.) I'm still getting things set up on here but I'm in no hurry.
The one before the one that passed untimely is upstairs, no longer connected to the internet and with upgrades that were able to remove, removed so I can play the disk form of Sims and Sim City. The online versions suck.

Yeah, our very first Teletraan was a Tandy 1000SX, two floppy drives, no hard-drive and running on MS-DOS on floppys (1986 or 87) and we had her about a year before our first problem. Took her to my IT guru (he ran a computer sales/repair shop and the BBS that we used to connect to online (which, back then was pretty much other BBS sites, Prodigy, AOL, Compu$erve and GEnie) and it turned out the spot the keyboard plugs into the computer went bad. The part is only about a dime to replace. But, it fried the motherboard. So, IT guru gave us a price for parts and labor and that was Teletraan's first upgrade to a 286, he added as much RAM as she could hold, it took him about a week to get the parts in.

The sound isn't working right. Every possible sound setting is at max but I only get faint sounds. The husband will have to forego his Stargate SG1 binge and do something about it.

headphones are still ticking over like they should be?
With all the storms we've had lately, not sure if it was a power outage or preventative shutdown so things would not get fried. But, the Windoze 10 updated (I don't like that I can't refuse an update completely) and (as usually) added $#!t to my system. There didn't use to be a weather related anything on my task bar. Now I have a sun or moon (depending of if is day or night), a temp and conditions (clear, cloudy, rain). And, if I mouse over it, I get a pop up of news headlines, road conditions and so forth. And I can't get rid of it.

Yeah, the headphones are fine. I unhooked the speakers then rehooked them and they're fine. Guess the cord wasn't seated right.
I didn't even notice the weather down there. Now I see it - cloudy and 76F at not even 7 in the morning. It's getting to that time of year again. Bleh.
