[/u] the Tribune reports. The veto was retribution for Democrats breaking quorum to sink a controversial elections package, Senate Bill 7.[/quote] That's what should have made the news, but Abbotthatesdogs is what they set trending. I guess Don't urinate on my Tony Lamas and tell me its raining, bub not quite as catchy, huh? [/div]
Plus, the ones most impacted by his pettiness won't really be the Legislators, the office staff and other folks who work in the building.

Link leads to this page. Weird. Proboards strutting their stuff again, I guess.
I'm undergoing a metamorphosis these days. Is it really a bad thing to defund the people who are purposely causing small business owners to lose their businesses? Not sure that's a bad thing. IMO, the perks plus the salaries of these representatives (in all states and at the federal level) is too much. They grow rich on the backs of taxpayers then think they can just tell people what to do because they've been elected, not for any actual expertise.

Except that the folks who will be hurt the most are not the legislators who walked out (for good reason... some times you just gotta hit folks in the face with a frozen channel cat carcass). But, the office workers and various gofers and such who do the heavy lifting behind the scenes and are not part of the internecine squabbling going on between the idjits in the pink limestone building down in Austin. Would not doubt that, contrary to our politicians who are only there part time, the aforementioned office workers, gofers and heavy lifters are there year round and (probably) don't have that second job like the politicians do here. What I'm also not sure he understands is that he also hurt folks who do the same for him and his rednecks ties. Because Texas has a House of Representatives that are Dems, Reps and probably one or two that aren't either. The Legislature is also made of Dems, Reps and probably a few that aren't either.
And, unfortunately, the only articles I could find when I googled the hashtag were only whining about the dogs.

I can see reps having the funds to pay staff, but at least at the federal level, they also get franking privileges and other perks that, IMO, aren't necessary. They're a group of people who can raise their own salaries without any, or at the most few, objections.
