Madison was a male name, and a surname. For males it was popular until the mid-1950s, then had a resurgence in the 1980s. It's a patronymic surname with the meaning of 'Matthew's son'. There are formerly male names that have switched over to females. Ashley, for one - remember dear Ashley from Gone with the Wind? Then, there's actress Michael Learned and some new Star Trek character. McKenzie or Mackenzie, of course, is also a surname as well as a female name. I blame the Mamas and the Papas for that one. Then, there are names that go for either sex - Pat (-ric or -ricia, but hey, that's Pat), Leslie, Dana, and, apparently, Sloan or Sloane.
Not shocking news. What's shocking is that some Tiktoker (or, as Grammarly suggests, 'Tinkertoy') did a little research between dance numbers.
