...there is. The gas station by the husband's work has been closed down for a few days now because it ran out of gas. The second-born, who lives about an hour and a half from here, won't be coming up to visit this weekend as planned because the stations down her way are either out of gas, close to being out, or swamped. So, in case someone tries to pull your leg by saying there's no shortage, laugh in their face.

My first instinct would be to say that this shortage is so in the face that only an absolute f*ing moron would deny this is happening. ... then, I remember the local deniers of various and sundry things lately who are (for the most part) my physical neighbors. I am apparently the Town Crier in a village of F*ing idiots.
S__t creek is rising fact and we got big holes in our canoes. Prices are going up. We have shortage of gas and ammo. So when it all goes over the dam and hits the fan... won't be able to run, shoot our way out or have access to comfort food (unless you win the lottery).
Of course, considering the absolute stupidity of a recent law passed here in Texas by Abbott and Costello (and the Peanut Gallery in the Pink Limestone Building) a gas and ammo shortage is not exactly a bad thing....

We bought a little ahead on food back when this whole mess started. Now I'm afraid it won't be enough. (Yes, we've been cycling through, new stuff into storage, older stuff to shelves.) Apparently some national news outlets were saying there was no shortage.
